One of the biggest IT company situated in Czech Republic. In IBM Brno have approximately 3500 employees.High people turnover and stress environment.
Unfortunately this is another IT Farm created to reduce the expenses of the greed shareholders and the salaries are not good.
Did you ask the question why these companies like IBM Brno moving their business here, not in Germany for example. Saving money , but not only. Looking for a people which don’t know well its rights.The modern slavery in action.But the most important reason for it is that Czech authority do not care so much about the employee`s rights. IBM creating its own rules – too far from any normal company behavior. IBM Brno do not follow the contract description and put more unofficial activities on the daily work. Pay attention on this fact !
As they do not invest in a local infrastructure and everything is rented you can not expect that company really care about you in the future. These companies are here to suck cheaper local resources and to go somewhere else when they are become compromised. sometimes they changing its names just to pretend that they are new companies, but it is not working well. Smart people well recognize this chameleon behavior.
Using cheaper people resources the IBM achieving high income. This company make billions , but keep its people very poor.The main reason that the company would create dependencies to keep the people at this cheaper place.
Except the bad work environment IBM Brno Delivery Center (now CIC) is a good place to start growing your knowledge, I did not mention a career, because to become a manager you should be ready to kiss any asses and to be a conformist .You don’t need to be smart. You will be hired to do the dirty job of the other richest countries which you will support remotely . Only the smart people understanding where they are , and leaving this low cost IT support. Like HP these corporation frequently changing its names , because the previous one is already compromised. IBM east Europe is just only one dirty place.
You will be forced to sign a contract without a description of your job , or information about your responsibilities. This will allow to IBM to put you everywhere , every time , and even they will not ask you about your preferences. This slave contract type exist only in several poor countries, but not in the “white” countries. Actually your contract in IBM Brno will be only formal piece of paper. No matter which level you are, they will put you in every activity which they need to cover.They usually would cover many activities with small amount of people, because they wont pay additional money, and don’t like to pay money at all.
You will be putted to work also in projects, where all other companies usually hiring dedicated people to the projects. But not in IBM Brno. They still keeping which bad behavior , and the Czech authority and the labor law is blind.
You will receive your salary almost at the middle of the next month. In 21st century they still need two weeks to calculate your salary ? No , they just like to keep your money as much as possible. The high management even thinking that people need only money to eat and sleep. Just like animals , or pets.
One of the biggest scam in IBM Brno , delivery center , CIC, the name really doesn’t matter, is the work hours claim. That is why claim work hours are confidential. With it , the corporation cheating not only you , but also the customers.
How work hours claim works on this CIC. Claiming in IBM Brno is based on FTE model – full time equivalent . FTE is used to claim how many hours you spent with your job. But almost all employees have full time permanent contract , which oblige you to work 40 hours weekly . At the same time you are forced to claim weekly. Why , when your salary is monthly based. In addition you can not claim all tasks , and claim codes which you have, because nobody will allow you to claim more than 40 hours week.Some peoples have 4-5 claim codes each of it is for 1 FTE, but unable to claim both of them. At the same time they are forced you to work with all of these claim codes. Unofficial, you doing the job for 2-4 FTE for example, but claiming only one FTE. That is why many peoples, especially the technical specialists are overloaded. That is why IBM Brno have bad feedback around the world. That is why peoples refusing to work in IBM Brno, and IBM around the world.

If you decide to start working in IBM Brno the most important thing is the manager personality. There are few good managers which understand in what kind of hell they are working (they are mostly foreigners) and the managers which will hiding behind the team, do nothing , pretending to work or make own benefits using the team. Lot of Czech managers are cowards ,low culture individuals, which making benefits from the teams .Of course there are some exceptions but better do not bet on it. This selfish management is well used by the high management , to make money from poor and unhappy people.But actually they are only gate keepers. Nothing important depending by the local management, and they just pretending to be important. The managers itself are in the same shit , but many of them can not realize it.
Another point in IBM is the discrimination. The discrimination is strongly prohibited (in theory by the law) in this company, but unfortunately the discrimination is everywhere. Because of the low managers culture (I don’t know how some of these people has been hired as a managers) lot of the people start looking for another job after 2-3 months in IBM.The hiring process in IBM is a big scam. They will to try to convince you that corporation is better, have trainings , good opportunity to learn , but this is fake. You will be forced to read Redbooks in order to learn the new technologies. Redbooks itself are bad written. You need to read for example 800 pages, to to find the useful information which can be written in 10 pages. Even to learn from YouTube is much better.Following IBM style of education I am expecting soon all schools to be closed right ?. Why to spend money on it, in case everyone can study at home.. No , IBM just don’t want to spend money on you, because they do not care about you. Like many other greed monsters IBM do not care about anything except the money.
IBM is technical and IT oriented company, but there is the one of the worst way ever exist to control the people.The Brainwashing. Including the daily corporate spam, you will be forced to use many tools. Actually the tools controlling you.Useless team bla bla meetings , or the suggestion about bright future with IBM. Many people do not even realized that they are used to cover the dirty work of the corporation. Many peoples complaining against the stupid , bad working and useless tools , but nobody care. IBM Delivery Center Brno forcing its employees to use American Express credit cards which have a very bad support in Europe.The American Express card customer support in Prague is lazy.The people don’t have another choice than using this worst credit card service. They doing lot of mistakes with your account and sometimes you should pay for that. You are forced to use many unwanted services and Amex is only one example. Another example – if you don’t using the preferred by IBM Bank your salary will be in delay.
If you decided to work in this company ask for good salary in the begging, during the recruitment process. The company never will increase your salary even you get a more tasks or going to higher level. That is why some people called this corporation – I Beg for Money.
Do not forget that the key of the success in IBM is to be agreed with every stupid idea of your manager.its important for your PBC. During your work the IBM will ask you to fill some surveys about your manager and the company work environment. You can write whatever you want, because nobody care about your opinion at all.

The corporate culture is stifling. Relative to nimbler competition, IBM has not been investing in R&D at the level needed to stay apace with the evolution of the tech universe. In many parts of IBM, there’s a culture of poverty: shrinking budgets, steady exodus of people, and no relief in sight. The company overall is not poor, but it certainly feels this way. Between the brain drain due to workforce management practices, and the lack of R&D investment, IBM is no longer competitive on many (most) fronts, and has to prop itself up by regular acquisitions. This doesn’t work too well either, because ambitious people from acquired companies usually leave as soon as their contact terms allow. Few startup-minded bright individuals can tolerate the “permanent cost-cutting” culture, heavy bureaucracy, and highly diluted level of talent that’s endemic in most of IBM.
