IBM Brno Delivery Center

Yet another year passed away , but there nothing positive happened with this local IBM Delivery Center office. IBM Brno were discussed several times during the past years, and every normal human being expecting that company to improve something , but nothing positive has happened.Only the benefit is the possibilities to work from home. Is it real IBM ?
What is IBM Brno or Delivery Center. This is not actually IBM , but a kind of franchise. Take a look here : IBM Global Delivery Center s.r.o. Will be not surprised if it is some offshore company. Similar companies exist in some other countries in European Union financial corner. Such kind of delivery centers do not exist in Germany for example.
IBM Brno changing several times its name and now it is IBM Client Innovation Center or CIC, using IBM brand. CIC Brno is a place where all “innovations” are tested on a live human beings. Tons of useless and bad working tools still taking place to the locals as Beta testers. It is a kind of laboratory where these innovation being tested before to be implemented everywhere. Of course you will doing the tests for free. Much suitable name according some of our readers should be : Pizza Delivery center, because some salaries are below that pizza delivery guys have.
Individuals are increasingly frustrated with these irrational and baseless innovations. Their objectives seem to shift every other week, with the company presenting these changes as enhancements. However, this is merely a smokescreen. These are not improvements; they are experimental trials. Unfortunately, it is the lower-level employees who bear the brunt of this erratic and myopic management. It is not uncommon for an employee to be reassigned teams from week to week, with new experiments implemented on a daily basis.
The employees there habitually seem oblivious to their assigned duties. There’s a noticeable absence of a cohesive, steady team, with staff members frequently reassigned arbitrarily and without prior notice. The upper management, for years now, have struggled to establish a stable and productive work environment, possibly due to apparent indifference. Consequentially, chaos permeates every level of the corporation, exacerbated by a definitive lack of clear direction and defined objectives. Employees exist in a state of uncertainty, unable to predict their professional trajectory for the coming year. The senior management also appears clueless, with their decision-making approach oscillating unpredictably on a daily basis.

What could possibly be the source of this turmoil? Part of the reason lies in the upper echelons of management, specifically within the office of IBM’s CEO, where focus is predominantly placed on the company’s profits and quarterly results. Their struggle in maintaining a competitive edge in the market is palpable, yet their strategy appears flawed and disoriented.
The relentless changes and ever-evolving chaos indicate a prevailing sense of panic, as they scramble to unearth a viable survival strategy. Yet, the management is continually engrossed in chasing ‘growth’, often failing to comprehend the finite nature of the world’s resources and dismissing the threat posed by a host of competitors, who harbor equal, if not greater, ambitions.
It’s crucial to remember that perpetual growth has a parallel in the natural world: cancer. The disease continues to proliferate until its host ultimately succumbs. One hopes that IBM’s pursuit of unceasing growth doesn’t follow a similar trajectory.
The IT monsters trying to eat each other, in order to survive , the regular peoples are forced to pay this price. The work environment is already described here and here and still actual. Most disturbing thing is that nobody care. HR department still confusing candidates that they will have stable work environment , clear job responsibility, competitive salary , but none of this will be true. You will deal with the same formal contract, no matter your level and skills you will be forced to do everything, and usually the dirty job.

The most significant issue remains the method of filing claims. You will be compelled to utilize Full-Time Equivalents (FTE) and hourly claiming. The contract stipulates that FTE is exclusively employed for part-time jobs — a fact that remains unchanged, irrespective of your availability to work for eight hours per day. Disregarding your work schedule, the company shows indifference.
Additionally, you will be coerced into dealing with concerns far beyond your realm of responsibility. For instance, if a business trip is on your agenda, the onus of organizing everything falls upon you. This process might turn out to be a time-consuming task, exacerbated by inefficient and malfunctioning tools. Numerous persons have raised concerns about bearing the costs for tool-related inaccuracies, sometimes even paying out-of-pocket to rectify these errors.
You will “fight” for everything in this company, and almost all the time you will be alone against the system. Peoples there are too selfish , the peoples in the peer departments are too lazy , or just don’t care. Why should care about you , in case they also have tons of bullshits to handle.
The employee turnover rate remains consistently high. Knowledgeable and experienced individuals often leave, with replacements frequently not being supplied. Many new recruits at CIC Brno lack the necessary IT acumen. There’s an unsettling number of Project Managers who lack even basic IT skills. Furthermore, there are numerous workers who come up short in terms of any inherent IT understanding.
Various Team Leaders exist, many of whom seemingly lack clarity about their responsibilities, subsequently creating confusion in workflow. IBM Delivery Center is saturated with underperforming staff who often act merely as dispatchers, or attempt to delegate their own work to others. It’s a common occurrence within this corporation that one must shoulder the workload of others to accomplish their own duties. Unfortunately, many underachievers exploit this interdependence.
The company’s cultural status continues to deteriorate. Local management is unfortunately compelled to onboard fresh talents, but with a restricted budget. Potential employees, now cognizant of the existing chaos within the corporation, are hesitant to join. The only feasible solution to bridge this void is to recruit individuals irrespective of their skills or cultural fit.

Would you consider employment at such an organization? Absolutely not. There are numerous other companies out there offering superior conditions and competitive, if not superior, remuneration. Many individuals launch their careers at IBM Brno merely to add this prestigious name to their resumes. However, they fail to realize that this once deemed prestigious association is no longer an asset. It’s a commonly acknowledged fact that IBM is perceived as a factory for creating workers who are more akin to automatons, proficient in rote tasks and lacking in creative potential.
The ability to think critically and make informed decisions is blatantly absent. After a few years of employment at IBM, young individuals are effectively transformed into docile automations. Top-tier organizations, which offer better work environments and salaries, are in no need of such robotic technicians, leadless team leaders, or project managers who merely possess language skills. They seek dynamic individuals capable of independent thought and decisive action.
Seems the high management and CEO have no idea what they doing, or most probably they don’t care anymore.Obviously the company stops its grow, and now just trying to survive. Ginni`s transformation will not solve the issue, it only will reanimate IBM for a short period of time. Without general changes
I don’t expect this company to stay on the market longer.
If you would keep your high professional level, thinking abilities , I can not recommend IBM CIC Brno for your career. And not only . You should avoid any other “hotline” and low cost companies like AT&T, Verizon, Amazon and many other which offering low salaries and high demand on the same time. They need first to learn how to respect the peoples, and stop doing an experiments , and treat you as monkey first. Then they are welcome.
Take care guys
